Leading the Cobra softball squad to atop the M-WAC standings, Witruk posed a consistent presence in the circle and in the batter’s box. Making 14 appearances over 26 games, Witruk was the pitcher of record in eight of Parkland’s 17 wins, logging 64.2 innings with an earned run average of 2.49. The 2.49 ERA marked a 1.28 improvement over her March performance, while the sophomore hurler struck out 38 batters to just 12 walks. At the plate, Witruk has reached base in half of her plate appearances, batting .361 with a .528 slugging percentage backed by eight doubles. Witruk’s best performance of the month came on April 13, allowing zero earned runs over seven innings at Danville Area with four strikeouts, while going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and run scored.
