Parkland College Athletics named volleyball player Abigail Burnett as its November Female Athlete of the Month. Burnett helped lead Cobras volleyball to its 2019 NJCAA National Runner-Up finish.
 
The sophomore opposite hitter from St. Joseph, Ill., had 69 kills, 19 blocks, and a .350 hitting percentage in the month of November, as the Cobras made their run to the National Championship match. In the final three matches of the national tournament, she amassed 40 kills and 11 blocks, with a .351 hitting percentage. Her 2019 postseason honors included the M-WAC All-Conference Team, Region 24 All-Region First Team, American Volleyball Coaches Association Third Team All-American, and NJCAA First Team All-American.
 
"Abigail has just been on a constant path of improvement during her time at Parkland," reflected head coach Cliff Hastings. "She is one of the most thoughtful young women you would have the pleasure of meeting, so we always wondered if she could find that inner-beast within to unleash on the court. She had a really memorable November and season overall playing with such poise and confidence each-and-every match."
