Box Score 3 PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The Parkland Cobra Volleyball defeated No. 5 Catawba Valley in three sets on Friday at the Owens Tournament in Perrysburg, Ohio — 25-14, 25-13, 25-19.
The Cobras then went on to defeat Vincennes (DI) 24-26, 25-20, 25-5, 25-15 and then Oakland 25-7, 25-10, 25-15 to round out Friday's action.
In the match against Catawba, freshman
Summerlyn Smith had 15 assists while
Ryleigh Warfel led the Cobras with 12 kills.
Brooke Norder contributed 18 digs. Overall, the Cobras' hitting percentage was .323 at the net.
Against Vincennes, Warfel had 15 kills,
Rachel Verdun had 24 assists and Norden 19 digs
In the days' last match against Oakland,
Abigail Burnett and
Brittney Litton each had nine kills. Verden added 19 assists and 16 digs.
The Cobras' move to 12-0 overall and are set to play Grand Rapids
at 9 a.m.; Edison State
at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. They are to close out the Owens Tournament in Perrysburg, Ohio on Sunday with
a 9 a.m. match vs. Muskegon and Sinclair
at 10:45 a.m.
