Box Score CANTON, Ill. – In a MWAC match on Tuesday, the Parkland Cobra Volleyball team defeated Spoon River 3-0 (25-15, 25-5, 25-17). The No. 2 ranked Cobras are now 20-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Eighteen Cobra players saw action on the court.
 
Setters Rachel Verdun and Summerlyn Smith had 18 and 15 assists respectively.
 
Hitting leaders were Sophomore Ryleigh Warfel (9-2-17); Sophomore Paige Yoder (11-0-14); Sophomore Abigail Burnett (7-1-9) for the Cobras.
 
Sophomore Hannah Benson had seven blocks; Warfel blocked three while Yoder and Burnett had two apiece.
 
Parkland sophomores Brooke Norder and Ryleigh Warfel each had eight digs and Sophomore Ellie Stone had two aces.
 
The Cobras are set to play at the College of Southern Nevada Tournament in Las Vegas, NV on Friday with the first match at 5 p.m. CT against Arizona Western and a second against the College of Southern Idaho at 9 p.m. CT. Action continues on Saturday at Noon CT versus Seward County and then the College of Southern Nevada at 6 p.m. ct to round out the weekend in Las Vegas, NV.
