Cobras Route Kankakee, 11-0

Box Score KANKAKEE, Ill. Six Parkland men's soccer players scored in an 11-0 route on Saturday afternoon, led by a hat trick by sophomore Francisco Andrade. Jonathan Velasquez, Yu Sasaki and Takumi Seo each netted two goals apiece, while Michael Garza and Harry Messitt added goals.

After three goals in the first half, Parkland put the match away with eight goals over 28 minutes in the middle of the second half. Aiding the attack were four-assist performances from sophomore strikers Naoto Uede and Yu Sasaki. In total, Sasaki had a team-high eight points.

With two more goals and four assists on Saturday, Sasaki now ranks top-10 in NJCAA Division I in goals (11, 8th), assists (7, 4th) and points (29, 6th). The 11 goals surpass his total from 2018, while the seven assists match last season's output and the 29 points are one shy of last year's total.

Parkland goalie Artem Burnett picked up the victory with a clean 90 minutes, saving three would-be Kankakee shot attempts.

Up next, the Cobras will take a 5-4-1 record in Quincy, Illinois on Saturday, September 28 for a 3 p.m. central time kickoff against John Wood.
