No. 5 Cobras Win Their Sixth Straight, Beat John Wood 3-1

Cobras sweep the Blazers this fall

Box Score QUINCY, Ill. – The Parkland men's soccer team visited John Wood Community College on Saturday, leaving Quincy with a 3-1 win, their sixth win in a row. Sophomore Cameron Walker scored and assisted Parker Theobald in the first half and Jonathon Velasquez scored his ninth goal of the season in the win.
 
The Cobras (11-2-1) felt confident coming into this game, having defeated John Wood 4-1 in Champaign earlier this season, and the confidence showed. Cameron Walker broke through in the 19th minute and the Cobras then quickly added another in the 20th to make it 2-0 at halftime. Velasquez continued his great season with a goal in the second half but the Blazers (6-8-2) didn't stay silent the whole game, scoring an unassisted goal in the 62nd to make it 3-1. Parkland's goalkeeper Frank Heck ended the game with two saves.
