Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN. Ill., – The No. 3 Parkland College volleyball team won two matches at the Parkland Tri #7 on Saturday afternoon, defeating Illinois Valley Community College (25-7, 25-12, 25-12) and Frontier Community College (25-20, 25-19, 25-6) in their final regular season matches. The Cobras finish the season undefeated at home and on a 32-match winning streak.
The Cobras (50-3) started strong, taking down the Eagles (5-22) in straight sets.
Kat Blase (13 kills, 10 blocks) stepped up with a dominating performance and
Sophie Young (32 assists 4 kills 3 blocks) continued her stretch of great play.
In the second match, the Cobras were tested early by the Bobcats (8-29), narrowly escaping sets one and two, but found their grove down the stretch to close out the season on a high note.
Jayden Sortor had a career game, finishing with 20 kills and 5 blocks, and
Sophie Young contributed 45 assists and 5 blocks in the Cobras 50
th win of the season.
Up next, Parkland will begin their postseason run on Saturday, November 6
th, when they host the NJCAA Central District Region 24 Championships. The time and opponent is TBD.
