FAIRFIELD, Ill. – No. 17 Parkland College Softball (40-5) picked up two wins, 9-6, and 20-2, from (DI) Frontier CC (15-23).
In game one, the Cobras were down by three after six innings and hit two home runs, scoring six in a dramatic seventh inning comeback win. In game two, Parkland left no doubt, leading big from the first inning on.
"The never give up mentality of this team is incredible!" expressed Co-Head Coach
Dan Paulson. "Down, 6-3, in the seventh, and Shafer leads off the inning by beating out an infield hit to get things rolling... that play gave us the opportunity. As a coaching staff, knowing we are never out of it allows us to stay calm and just let the ladies play the game."
Co-Head Coach
Kristi Paulson added, "
Chayse Ramey was as sharp (in game one) as she has been all year. The fact that we are finding ways to win games, when we are all not at our best, is good to see."
Up next, the Cobras are in Champaign, Ill., for an MWAC doubleheader against Danville Area CC on Saturday, April 23. Game times are 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
Game 1: No. 17 Parkland- 9, Frontier- 6 (7 innings)
After a scoreless first inning, Parkland got on the board in the top of the second when

In the top of the seventh, needing at least three runs to extend the game, a Shafer single and a

Anna Walker (1-4, HR, 2 RBI) then stepped up and hit her second pitch over the fence, tying the game at 6. Then, after
