NORMAL, Ill. – The No. 14 Parkland College men's soccer team never trailed but had to hold on for a 4-3 victory against No. 4 Heartland CC.
The Cobras (3-0-1) scored first and led 1-0 at the half. The Hawks (3-1) leveled the score on a penalty kick early in the second half, but Parkland scored three consecutive goals and looked to be in control. Two late goals by Heartland created some intensity for the final ten minutes, but the Cobras held on for their third win of the season.

Parkland outshot Heartland, 10-14, and the Cobras put eight on frame compared to the Hawks' six. Sabastian Staddon made six saves in the goal for Parkland.

Parkland travels to Waterloo, Iowa, to play in the Hawkeye Invitational. On Saturday, September 4, at 3:00 PM, the Cobras will play Dakota County Technical College. The following day, at 2:00 PM, they will face Central CC-Columbus.
