CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The No. 2 Parkland College volleyball team (19-3) lost in straight sets to last year's National Champion – No. 5 Johnson County CC (7-2) – but rebounded to take down No. 3 Sauk Valley CC (14-1), also in straight sets.

Elle Schupbach (10 kills, 10 digs) notched her third-consecutive double-double as she led the Cobras in kills.
Sophie Young (27 assists),
Halle Everett (8 kills, 3 blocks), and
Arika Richardson (7 kills) were also heavy contributors to the offensive attack.
Defensive standouts included
Josie Hess (13 digs, 2 aces),
Kayla Brandon (10 digs), and
Kat Blase (5 blocks).

Sophie Young (37 assists, 2 aces, 7 blocks) were once again strong both offensively and defensively in this top-3 battle.
Halle Everett (9 kills) and
Arika Richardson (7 kills, 3 blocks) teamed with Schupbach for 28 of the Cobras' 40 kills.
