CHAMPAIGN Ill., The Parkland College Women's Volleyball won the Parkland College Classic on Saturday, beating Des Moines Area Community College and Kirkwood Community College 3-0 in each game. The Cobras did not drop a set in any of their four matches this weekend.

In the first match, Parkland (27-3) played great defense to start and began converting on attacks as the match wore on. Des Moines (9-6) made in close in the second set, but the Cobras were too much for the Bears to handle. Parkland got the win in straight sets 25-15, 25-23, 25-11.
Kat Blase had an impressive 8 kills, 7 aces and 6 blocks in the win.

In the second game, Kirkwood Community College (15-7) challenged the Cobra's early and wouldn't go away. Parkland won the first set but would be forced into extra games in both the second and third, winning the match 25-22, 27-25, 26-24.
Arika Richardson led the way for the Cobras with 14 kills and 5 blocks.

Up next, Parkland will face #10 Heartland Community College on the road Wednesday, September 29
th. The fifth conference game of the season for the Cobras is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
