CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The No. 2 ranked Parkland College volleyball team defeated both Southeastern Illinois College and Lincoln Trail College in straight sets on the final day of the Parkland Region Crossover Tournament on Sunday, October 23rd. The Cobras close out the weekend without dropping a set as the team extends its winning streak to eight straight matches. Freshman Chloe Byrd led the Parkland offense in the first match with 13 kills and four blocks while sophomore Kat Blase tallied 26 points to lead the way in match two (15 kills, 11 blocks).
Up next, Parkland will host Carl Sandberg College and No. 16 Moraine Valley Community College on Friday, October 28th in the Cobras' first two matches of the Parkland North vs. South Challenge. Parkland will face the Chargers at 1:00 PM on Friday with their match against the Cyclones to follow.
