Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 1 ranked Parkland College volleyball team kicked off the Parkland "School's Back" Tournament on Friday, August 26th, by defeating Carl Sandberg College and 16th-ranked Hawkeye Community College. The Cobras' 3-0 win over Carl Sandberg and their hard-fought 3-1 victory over Hawkeye CC were their first matches in Champaign since winning the 2021 NJCAA DII National Championship last season. Kat Blase tallied 28 kills and 16 blocks between the two matches, posting a hitting percentage of .500 on the day. Parkland College (7-1) has now won six matches in a row and the Cobras have not lost at home since November 2nd, 2019.
Up next, the Parkland "School's Back" Tournament continues on Saturday, August 27th, with Parkland College set to face Kalamazoo Valley Community College at 11:00 AM before matchup up with Rock Valley College at 1:00 PM.
