No. 6 Parkland Men’s Soccer Falls to No. 19 South Suburban 3-1 at Home

The Cobras tie the game in the second half, but can't close it out

Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 6 Parkland College men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 3-1 at home against 19th-ranked South Suburban College on Sunday, August 28th. The Cobras (0-1-1) fell behind in the first half, but sophomore Yamato Kline drew the score level early in the second. The Bulldogs (1-1-0) did not stay down long, however, retaking the lead two minutes later before South Suburban forward Angel Mendez completed his hat trick, handing the Cobras a 3-1 loss.
 
"Playing two top 20 teams on back-to-back days was a tall order under ideal team conditions… We are far from that right now, but we must press on through these low times," Parkland head coach Mark Sikora urged after the loss. "Today was a perfect example in soccer of how a few mistakes can be too large to overcome no matter how hard you try."
