No. 16 Cobras Lose 3-1 at No. 12 St. Louis Community College

Parkland falls to 4-4-2

Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The No. 16 Parkland College men's soccer team fell short in a top-20 matchup on Wednesday, September 21st, losing 3-1 at St. Louis Community College. The Cobras (4-4-2) put the pressure on the Archers (7-1-1) all game, logging 6 shots on goal and producing 10 corner kicks, but the team just couldn't find a second goal after Freshman Ryosuke Nakajima scored early in the second half. The Archers scored just before time expired to hand the Cobras the 3-1 road loss.

"This one stings," head coach Mark Sikora admitted after the loss, "We did so many things right today and only allowed a few shots on goal, but still ended up dropping the game. The score doesn't tell the full story on this one. I am going to take the blame on this one; the players put forth a huge effort in extremely hot conditions and I don't think I did well enough in preparation for that fact."

Scoring Summary:

St. Louis Goal: 24th minute
