DOWAGIAC, Mich. – The No. 4 Parkland College men's basketball team pulled away late in a 72-52 road win over Southwestern Michigan College on Tuesday, November 21. The Cobras (7-0) struggled on the glass against the Roadrunners (4-3), but a strong second half powered the visitors to their seventh straight win to start the season. Parkland went 25-42 (60%) from the field and 8-17 (47%) from three in the win. The Cobras won with a balanced attack led by sophomores Isaac Mapson III (13 points, 4 rebounds) and
Grant Coleman (10 points, 3-4 3PT).

Parkland fell behind in the first half, but a late rally gave the visitors a 33-30 lead at halftime. Parkland opened the second half with back-to-back three-pointers by
Don Coats III and
Grant Coleman, extending the lead to nine. SWMC responded quickly, cutting the deficit to four, but the Parkland defense stifled the Roadrunners, holding them to 29% from the field and three in the second half. The Cobras allowed just one made shot in the final five minutes, cruising to a 72-52 win on the road.
