VINCENNES, Ind. – The No. 3 Parkland College women's basketball team lost its first game of the season at Vincennes University on Saturday, December 9, falling 83-71 on the road. The Cobras (10-1) struggled to score against the NJCAA Division I Trailblazers (4-7), producing a season-low 71 points in the loss. The visitors trailed 51-35 at halftime - and Vincennes kept the Cobras at bay despite sophomore
Alyssa Cole scoring a game-high 22 points. Parkland now falls to 2-1 on the road this season.

"It is hard to win when we can't make shots or execute what we work on in practice," Parkland head coach Jean Demosthenes said after the game. "Overall, we didn't take this team seriously enough, and they took it to us on both defense and offense."
Â
"We shot our worst from the field and 57 percent from the free throw line, and we turned the ball over 21 times… We have a lot of work ahead of us," Demosthenes concluded.
