BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The No. 10 ranked Parkland College Baseball team split a neutral site doubleheader with Lewis & Clark Community College on Thursday, May 11th, as the Cobras (42-12) (21-9) lost 9-1 to the Trailblazers (31-23) (15-15) in game one before winning game two 2-0. Sophomore infielder Austin Gomm led the team with three hits on Thursday, and sophomore Tresdon Rybarczyk (4.2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K) earned his fifth win of the season in game two. Thanks to the doubleheader split, Parkland officially locked up the No. 2 seed in next week's NJCAA Central A District Championship in Normal, Illinois.
Up next, Parkland heads to Alton, Illinois, for a final regular season doubleheader against Lewis & Clark CC tomorrow, May 12th. First pitch against the Trailblazers is scheduled for noon on Friday.

Parkland fell behind by four in the top of the 1st inning, and Lewis & Clark added four more runs in the 3rd to take an 8-0 lead. Sophomore Austin Gomm (2-3, RBI) drove in Josh Outlaw (1-2, R) in the bottom of the 3rd to cut the deficit, but the Trailblazer lead never looked in doubt, and the Cobras dropped game one 9-1.
Sophomore Carter Monke (9-2) picked up the loss, surrendering three earned runs on 10 hits and one walk, striking out three in four innings of work. Freshman Alejandro Maltos-Garcia (2.0 IP 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) made his eighth appearance in the sixth inning, and freshman Drew Evans (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER) pitched the seventh.
Sophomore Jackson Blemler (1-2, 2B, BB) and freshman Chase Becker (1-3, 2B) each doubled in the loss.

The Cobras took an early lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning following an RBI single to right field from sophomore Nate Bingman (1-3, RBI), and freshman Ryan Snell (2-3, 2B, RBI, R) added to it with a 2-out RBI single in the 3rd.
Starting pitcher Tresdon Rybarczyk (5-1) threw four and 2/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing just two hits and striking out three batters in his 12th start of the season. Sophomore Alex Pipes (2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 K) replaced Rybarczyk and converted his first save of the year as Parkland shutout Lewis & Clark in a 2-0 game two win.
