Parkland improves to 4-0-1 on the road this season

Box Score OGLESBY, Ill. – The No. 7 ranked Parkland College men's soccer team won a hard-fought 1-0 game at Illinois Valley Community College on Wednesday, September 13th. The Cobras (6-1-1) finally broke through for a game-winning goal against the Eagles (4-2-1) in the 56th minute, when sophomore Ron Naftali scored from the penalty spot. "This was an exercise in patience and attentiveness," Parkland head coach Mark Sikora said after the shutout win. "Earning a shutout was key, but so was committing to play in a positive way against a team that really sat in and looked for counterattacking opportunities."

Sikora added that defenders Ebenezer Boti and Nathan Torres led from the back in the win, saying, "It may not have looked like our best effort on the scoreboard, but I was proud of how we managed the situation today."
