Box Score NORMAL, Ill. – The No. 5 ranked Parkland College volleyball team dropped a hard-fought conference match on the road to No. 7 Heartland Community College on Wednesday, September 13th, as the Hawks (12-2) defeated the Cobras (18-3) in five sets. Parkland fell behind early but battled back to take a 2-1 lead following a dramatic third set. However, the hosts rebounded in the fourth and fifth, handing the Cobras their first M-WAC loss in over 12 years. Sophomores Bri Struck (20 kills, 17 digs) and Chloe Byrd (19 kills, 3 blocks) led the Parkland offense, and freshman Libby Bodine (27 digs, 7 assists) averaged over five digs per set in the loss.
 
Up next, the Cobras return to Normal, Illinois, to compete in the Heartland Invite this weekend. Parkland opens against John A. Logan (8-1) on Friday, September 15th, at noon before taking on North Iowa Area Community College (8-8) at 2:00 PM.
