Box Score NORMAL, Ill. – The No. 7 ranked Parkland College men's soccer team suffered its second last-minute loss of the season at Heartland Community College on Thursday, September 28, losing 2-1. The Cobras (8-3-1) took the lead in the second half, but the Hawks (5-4-2) scored two goals in the final four minutes to flip the script and hand Parkland its third loss of the season.
"Our strong play throughout the game, especially in the second half, will unfortunately be overshadowed by the fact that we gave up two goals in the final minutes," head coach
Mark Sikora acknowledged after the loss.
"For players new to our program, and we a lot of them, they are starting to understand that everyone is going to give us their best effort, and Heartland certainly did that today with a difficult style to handle and in a very difficult place to play."
"
Harry Gray was phenomenal today in goal and kept us in the match," Sikora added. "We just couldn't finish the job."
