Shion Hayashi scored an unassisted goal in the first half, and goalkeeper
Harry Gray recorded four saves in the loss.
"It was a fairly even match overall," Parkland College head coach
Mark Sikora recounted after the game. "The difference was a span of a few minutes when we did not keep up with an extremely talented NJCAA Division I team."
"The backline, especially
Ebenezer Boti, put in great shifts and kept us in the match," Sikora added. "When going forward, I thought the play of
Shion Hayashi and
William Arana was very positive and hopefully something we can build on moving forward."
"Playing our seventh regular-season match this early on has finally caught up to us, and it is time for a much-needed break," Sikora concluded.
