Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Parkland men's soccer team won on the road against St. Louis Community College (3-6-2) on Saturday, October 12th. St. Louis Community College scored the first goal of the game in the seventh minute, but the Cobras (6-5-3) did not allow the Archers to score again after that.
"This was a real test against a perennial power and things did not look like they were going to go in our favor early on," Parkland head coach
Mark Sikora said after the win. "A ton of credit is given to our players to wrestle back control and push us over the finish line, especially the heroic efforts of Urbana Tiger alumni
Noah Barkley and
William Arana."
Barkley scored in the 55th minute, assisted by Arana, to tie the game. The duo put the Cobras ahead one minute later, this time with an assist from Barkley and a goal from Arana. Goalkeeper
Matteo Puli had one save in the 2-1 win.
"It was nice to stack another win on top of the massive result from a few days ago," Sikora concluded. The Cobras have won two matches in a row after defeating No. 12 Heartland Community College on Wednesday, October 9th.
Up next, Parkland returns home for a match against Illinois Valley Community College (4-5-4) on Tuesday, October 15th. The match is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
