Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland men's soccer team defeated Illinois Valley Community College (4-6-4) on Tuesday, October 15th. The Cobras (7-5-3) beat the Eagles 6-1 in the last home match of the season. 
 
Hidenori Akasaka, Yali Cohen, and Santiago Samame scored in the first half, putting Parkland up 3-0 at halftime. In the second half, Christophin Ngassam scored quickly, followed by two more goals from Akasaka and Samame. IVCC was able to get on the board in the 66th minute, but Parkland's defense held strong throughout the match, limiting IVCC to three shots, one on goal. 
 
Samame and Akasaka each have seven goals this season. In 15 matches, the Cobras are averaging 2.47 goals per match.
 
Up next, Parkland travels to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to play the last regular season match against Division I Iowa Western Community College (13-0-2). The match is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 19th.
