Parkland Loses to No. 3 Heartland Community College 6-0

Leire Rodriguez makes 30 saves in the loss

Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Parkland College women's soccer fell to No. 3 Heartland Community College (12-1-1) at home on Wednesday, October 9th. The Hawks scored two goals in the first two minutes of the game, taking the early 2-0 lead. The Cobras (0-12) struggled to get opportunities on offense, and the Hawks found the back of the net four more times to make the final score 6-0. 
 
Goalkeeper Leire Rodriguez made 30 saves in 90 minutes of play. Rodriguez is number one in the nation (NJCAA DII) in saves with 198. Katie Clark and Ella Gessner each had one shot on goal. In 12 games, Parkland has 52 shots on goal. 
 
Up next, Parkland returns to action on Saturday, October 12th, at No. 13 St. Louis Community College (6-2-1). The match is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
