Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 14 Parkland women's basketball defeated Bryant & Stratton College on Saturday, November 9th. The Cobras improve to 3-1 after beating the Bobcats 64-57 at home. 
 
The Bobcats (1-2) scored first, but the Cobras led 16-13 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was a back-and-forth battle with multiple lead changes, and the Cobras were down 33-30 going into halftime. At the start of the second half, the Cobras scored six unanswered points to pull ahead 36-33, but the Bobcats did not back off. In the last two minutes of the game, the Cobras led by just three points (60-57). Parkland's defense shut down Bryant & Stratton's offense for the remainder of the game, and two baskets from Stacie Vonderheide and Sofiia Fedina extended the lead to lift Parkland to a 64-57 win. 
 
"I am so proud of this group and love how we are coming together and playing for one another," Parkland head coach Jean Demosthenes said after the win. "Even though we are down players due to injuries, they continue to find ways to win and never give up. This is a special group of players!" 
 
Stacie Vonderheide led the offense with 18 points, followed by Lucy Fearday with 11. Fearday was 6-7 from the free throw line. The Cobras were 21-52 from the field (40.4%), 6-13 from three (46.2%), and 16-20 from the free throw line (80%).
