Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 9 Parkland men's basketball defeated Millikin University 83-60 on Friday, November 8th. The Cobras (3-0) held a 16-point lead going into halftime and maintained the lead over the Big Blue through the second half to secure the win. Parkland was led by Chandler Jackson with 17 points, followed by Kris English with 11 points. Jackson went 3-4 from three to lift the Cobras to their third straight win. 
 
"Although we got the win tonight, we showed that we still have some things we need to work on," Parkland head coach John Bowler said after the game. "Millikin is a well coached team, which led to us having some inconsistent moments."
 
Parkland shot 35-70 from the field (50%), 9-23 from three (39.1%), and 4-4 from the free throw line (100%). The Cobras recorded 34 rebounds as a team, led by Drew Lewis Jr. with nine. JaMonte Williams had seven steals and seven assists.
 
"I am proud of our guys for settling in defensively to extend the lead late in the first half," Bowler added. " It shows our maturity and experience. The best thing about our team right now is that we all know we haven't played up to our capabilities. We have room to continue to improve. We have got to keep working to get to where we want to be on both ends."
