Box Score CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. – The No. 2 seed Parkland College volleyball team advanced to the 2024 NJCAA DII National Tournament Quarterfinals with a straight-set win over No. 15 seed Mesa Community College (20-12) on Wednesday, November 20.
Parkland (49-2) had the 22-19 lead in set one and scored three straight points to earn the victory. The next two sets were tight battles, but Parkland came out on top to win them both 27-25. The Cobras tallied 18 kills in set one, 19 kills in set two, and 13 kills in set three.
Brooklyn Holdener and
Shay McMillen led the offense with 15 kills and 13 kills, respectively.
Hailey Warfel totaled 25 assists and
Ashlee Freeman added 21. The Cobras had 87 digs in the match, led by
Libby Bodine with 24.
Up next, the Cobras take on No. 7 seed Johnson County Community College (28-6) in the NJCAA DII National Tournament Quarterfinals. The match is scheduled for 7:30 PM on Thursday, November 21. The Cobras lost to the Cavaliers earlier in the season, falling 3-1.
