Box Score 2 MT. CARMEL, Ill. – No. 9 Parkland men's basketball started the season off strong with two wins at the Warrior Classic in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, against Community Christian College JV and Moraine Valley Community College. The Cobras (2-0) beat both opponents by more than 30 points.
The Cobras played the first regular season game against Community Christian College JV on Saturday, November 2nd. The Cobras only allowed the Lions to score a combined 28 points in the first half and went into halftime with a 25-point lead. The Cobras didn't back down in the second half, scoring another 71 points to secure the 59-point win (124-65).
Adam Squire led the offense with 18 points, followed by
Drew Lewis Jr. with 17, and
Jaiden Martin with 16.
JaMonte Williams and
Chandler Jackson had 7 rebounds apiece. As a team, the Cobras went 49-84 (58.3%) from the field, 7-22 from three (31.8%), and 19-25 from the free throw line (76%).
The second game of the season was against Moraine Valley Community College (0-2) on Sunday, November 3rd. The Cobras defeated the Cyclones 99-68, led by
Chandler Jackson with 24 points. Parkland was 17-24 from the free throw line (71%) in the win.
Drew Lewis Jr. went 5-6 from the free throw line.
