Box Score INA, Ill. – The Parkland women's basketball team traveled to Ina, Illinois, to play Division I Rend Lake College (0-3) on Wednesday, November 6th. The Cobras (2-1) earned a hard-fought 61-58 win on the road, led by
Danielle Ruffin with 16 points.Â

The Warriors got on the board first after sinking a three-pointer, but Ruffin quickly followed up with a bucket to get the Cobras started in the first away game of the season. With four minutes left in the first quarter, the Cobras were up 8-7. After a back-and-forth battle in the last several minutes of the first quarter, the Cobras had extended the lead to five, making the score 16-11. Midway through the second quarter,
Sofiia Fedina put the Cobras up 27-20 with a three, followed by two more from
Stacie Vonderheide and
Danielle Ruffin. Going into halftime, the Cobras had the 35-25 lead. The momentum shifted slightly in the third quarter, and the Cobras were only able to score eight points. However, Parkland came roaring back in the fourth quarter, putting up 16 points with the help of five different Cobras.Â

"It was a great team win tonight," Parkland head coach Jean Demosthenes said after the game. "Our goal going into the game was to run our half-court sets and minimize turnovers by taking care of the ball."

"We had some key players out for tonight's game, but I was glad to see our young team come together to secure this victory," Demosthenes added. "I am proud of them, and I know that we need to continue to improve as a collective group."Â
