Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 5 Parkland men's basketball closed out the Parkland Thanksgiving Classic with a 108-39 win over McHenry County College (0-9) on Sunday, December 1. The Cobras totaled 51 rebounds and 13 assists in the win at home.Â
The Cobras (9-0) took the lead after being down 5-4 and continued to pull away the rest of the first half. In the last several seconds of the first half,
Grant Chamberlain sank a three-pointer to give the Cobras a 33-point lead, putting them up 53-20 at halftime. Parkland remained in control in the second half, leading 86-35 at the 10:00 mark. The Cobras went on a 22-4 run in the last ten minutes of the game, earning the ninth win of the season and fifth win at home.Â
Chandler Jackson and
JaMonte Williams led the offense with 20 points each. Williams also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. The Cobras went 45-84 from the field (53.6%) and 9-11 from the free throw line (81.8%) in the 108-39 win.Â
