Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 10 ranked Parkland College men's soccer opened its 2024 campaign with a 1-1 draw against Division I Jefferson College on Thursday, August 22. Victor Fernandez got the Cobras (0-0-1) in front first, scoring in the 42^nd minute. The Vikings (0-0-1) followed up in the second half with a goal in the 50^th minute. Goalkeeper Matteo Puli also recorded two saves.
 
"You've got to score goals at the right time, and we just didn't do it today," Cobra head coach Mark Sikora admitted after the game. "We just didn't finish our chances."
 
"The work of Noah Barkley, Yali Cohen, Kaya Karabeyaz-Cowling, and Ebenezer Boti kept everything under control for us," Sikora added. "They were a big physical presence and made the right decisions."
