Cobras Fall in Season Opener

Parkland loses their first game of the season

Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team opened their 2024 season with a tough 12-0 loss at home to Jefferson College on Thursday, August 22nd. The Vikings (1-0) scored six times in first half, and they kept the pressure on to score another six in the second half to hand Parkland (0-1) the loss.

"We unfortunately only had ten players today," Parkland head coach Kip McDaniel said after the game. "We had some players with injuries, and we were working through that. Our players stuck it out for the full 90 minutes and gave it their absolute all. It was a tough loss, but we are going to keep growing and learning."

Up next, Parkland hits the road for a game at Hawkeye Community College on Saturday, August 24th. Kick-off against the RedTails (0-0) is scheduled for noon on Saturday in Waterloo, IA.
