Box Score QUINCY, Ill. – The Parkland College women's soccer team fell short to John Wood Community College on Wednesday, September 18th. The Cobras (0-7) got on the board first, but they were unable to finish, losing to the Blazers (1-3) 3-2. 
 
Ella Gessner scored the first goal of the match in the 3rd minute, assisted by Luciana Alvarez. In the 43rd minute, Aina Bugeda scored the second goal, which was assisted by Megan Janson, to put the Cobras up 2-0 at the half. The score remained the same until the last ten minutes of the match, when the Blazers scored in the 80th minute. John Wood was able to find the back of the net twice more before the end of the match, handing Parkland the loss on the road.
 
In the match, Gessner had another shot on goal, with Jenna Clemmons adding one. Janson recorded four corner kicks, while Leire Rodriguez tallied an impressive 21 saves.
