Box Score DANVILLE, Ill. – Parkland women's basketball earned a conference win at Danville Area Community College (12-4) on Wednesday, January 8. The Cobras (9-7) outrebounded DACC 49-36 and outscored the Jaguars 42-34 in the paint to pick up the 75-60 win.Â

The Cobras controlled the first half, leading 17-8 after the first quarter and 40-22 by halftime. The Jaguars outscored the Cobras in both the third and fourth quarters, but the Cobras managed to maintain a double-digit lead for the entire second half. Parkland was 7-13 (53.8%) from the free throw line and 32-75 (42.7%) from the field in the win. Three Cobras scored in double figures, including freshman

"It was great to see the ladies recover after last week's defeat," Parkland head coach Jean Demosthenes said after the win. "We discussed execution and I felt we executed well on both ends of the court tonight."

"They brought great energy tonight," Demosthenes added. "As I told them, coaches can't coach energy; our job is to put you in the right position to execute. I'm proud of how they competed on defense tonight."
