CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — October 1, 2025 — No. 6 Parkland College volleyball team powered past No. 13 Illinois Central College on Wednesday night, earning a 3-1 victory at home (19-25, 25-21, 25-10, 25-23).
After a slow start in set one, the Cobras responded with energy and execution, dominating the second and third frames before closing out a nail-biting fourth to secure the match.
Natalie Alexander led the way offensively with 11 kills on a .474 hitting percentage, while Bella McKinney and Shay McMillen each added seven and eight kills, respectively. Hailey Warfel chipped in six kills along with 30 assists, guiding the Cobra offense.
Defensively, Anna McEwen anchored the back row with 29 digs, while Warfel added nine. The Cobras' block proved pivotal, as Alexander tallied 9 block assists and McMillen contributed 4 of her own. In total, Parkland finished with 40 kills, 81 digs, and 24 block assists as a team.
With the victory, the Cobras strengthen their national standing and move confidently into their upcoming home tournament, at 30-3 for the season.
Parkland will host its mid-season invite on Friday, October 3rd, facing Kankakee Community College at noon and Madison College at 2:00PM.
