EAST PEORIA, Ill. — October 2, 2025 — Parkland College men's soccer faced a difficult test on Thursday afternoon, playing NJCAA Division I No. 1 Iowa Western Community College. The Cobras fought hard but ultimately fell, 8-0. 

Iowa Western set the tone early with two first-half goals, then pulled away in the second half. Despite the final scoreline, the Cobras created some chances of their own, recording two shots on goal from Gustavo Poli and Isaac Warren, but were unable to find the back of the net.

The setback moves Parkland to 6-7 overall on the season.

The Cobras will look to quickly regroup as they return to action at home on Saturday, October 4^th, when they host South Suburban College at 2:00 PM.
