Box Score 2 YOUNGSVILLE, Louisiana – No. 21 Parkland College softball won two games at the Mardi Gras Invitational in Youngsville, Louisiana, on Saturday, February 1. The Cobras (3-1) defeated Southwest Mississippi Community College (0-3) and NJCAA Division I Baton Rouge Community College (1-3).Â

Game 1: No. 21 Parkland College 10, Southwest Mississippi Community College 4

Nicole Sinks got the scoring started in the top of the 2nd inning with a double to center field, scoring
Reece Sarver from second. The Parkland offense didn't slow down there, and they went on to score four more runs in the same inning.
Lindsey Muskopf hit a solo home run in the top of the 5th inning to extend the lead, and singles from Sarver and Sinks in the 6th inning helped the Cobras earn the 10-4 win.

Kailyn Wilson (3.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER) got the win for the Cobras, and
Claire Black (4.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 K) pitched four innings in relief.Â

Game 2: No. 21 Parkland College 3, Baton Rouge Community College (DI) 2

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 5th inning, after a Baton Rouge error allowed
Abbey Horeis to score from second. Baton Rouge went up 2-1 in the top of the 6th inning, but the Cobras scored two in the bottom of the inning to go up by one. The Cobras held the Bears in the top of the 7th inning to secure the 3-2 win.Â

Mya Brown (7.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 K) pitched all seven innings for the Cobras.
Jordyn Turner and
Nicole Sinks each collected two hits.
Lucy Fearday and
Lindsey Muskopf each drove in one run.Â
