Box Score Ina, Ill. – The No. 6 Parkland men's basketball team won 68-65 over Rend Lake College (12-11) on Wednesday, February 12. The Cobras (23-2) are 9-1 in Region 24 play and sit in first place in the Region 24 standings.Â
Rend Lake jumped ahead early, getting the 20-12 lead with 8:52 on the clock in the first half. The Cobras inched closer to the Warriors as the minutes ticked down, cutting the lead to just one point with under a minute left. A missed three-pointer from the Warriors gave the Cobras possession of the ball in the final seconds of the first half, and a
JaMonte Williams bucket gave the Cobras the 33-32 lead going into the break. The Cobras pulled ahead 58-50 with 4:15 on the clock in the second half, earning their largest lead of the half. The Warriors continued to push forward in the last several minutes, trimming the deficit to three points with 36 seconds left in the game. Free throws from
