Box Score 2 MILLINGTON, Tennessee – No. 13 Parkland College baseball won the first two games of the season at the Perfect Game Invitational in Millington, Tennessee, on Friday, February 14. The Cobras (2-0) defeated Jackson College (0-2) and Hinds Community College (2-4).
Gavin Parkerson and
Cale Coursey picked up wins in their respective starts, and
Will Applegate,
Andrew Gallegos, and
Jax Hisle all crushed a home run to help the Cobras start the season off 2-0.Â

Game 1: No. 13 Parkland College 6 , Jackson College 4

Parkland took the early lead in the bottom of the first inning after a solo home run from
Jax Hisle and a base hit from
Andrew Gallegos scored two runs. Jackson College tied the game 2-2 in the top of the third, but Parkland responded quickly in the bottom of the inning, scoring a run to take back the lead. The Cobras tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to go up 6-2, and the Jets were unable to come back from the deficit. Gallegos led the team in hits with three, including a home run in the 5th inning, to help secure the 6-4 win for the Cobras.

Game 2: No. 13 Parkland College 15, Hinds Community College 6

Adison Worthman singled to center field in the 1st inning to put the Cobras on the board first. Hinds took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning, scoring three runs to go up 3-1. Parkland didn't stay down long, tying the game in the top of the 3rd, and then following up with a six-run 5th inning. With the 12-3 lead going into the 6th inning, the Cobra offense stayed hot, scoring another three runs in the final two innings to win 15-6 over the Eagles.Â

John Shuey each collected two hits. Magrini knocked in four runs for the Cobras.
Cale Coursey (3.0 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K) earned the win, and
Cody DelFavero (3.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6 K) and
Alec Bergman (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K) appeared in relief.Â
