Box Score 2 CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – No. 6 Parkland men's basketball won its last two games against Lewis & Clark Community College (9-18) and Lincoln Land Community College (3-23) this week. The Cobras (26-2) defeated Lewis & Clark on the road 84-61 on Thursday, February 20, and took down Lincoln Land at home 91-51 on Saturday, February 22.
After the two wins, the Parkland men's basketball team secured the #1 seed in the Region 24 tournament and won the Mid-West Athletic Conference for the second year in a row. This is the second time in program history that the men's basketball team has been back-to-back conference champions.
Game 1: No. 6 Parkland College 84, Lewis & Clark Community College 61
The Cobras defeated Lewis & Clark Community College for the second time this season, led by
Chandler Jackson with 17 points.
JaMonte Williams and
Kobe Watson contributed 15 points apiece.
Game 2: No. 6 Parkland College 91, Lincoln Land Community College 51
Lincoln Land got on the board first, but Parkland pulled ahead 3-2 in the first two minutes of the game and never trailed again. The Loggers kept it close in the first half, tying the game 16-16 with nine minutes left. The Cobras kept their composure, and a
Drew Lewis Jr. three-pointer at the buzzer gave Parkland the 37-26 lead going into halftime. The Cobras took control in the second half, quickly gaining a 20-point lead with just over 14 minutes on the clock. Parkland outscored the Loggers 54-25 in the second half, led by
JaMonte Williams with 12 points.
