Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 7 Parkland men's basketball team pulled away late in a hard-fought win over Danville Area Community College (13-8) on Wednesday, February 5. The Cobras (21-2) have won their last seven games after falling to DACC in early January.Â
Parkland got off to a slow start, and DACC went on a 9-0 run to take the 16-7 lead with 12:38 on the clock in the first half. The Cobras slowly closed the deficit, pulling within three points with just under a minute left in the half after a
Grant Chamberlain three-pointer made the score 29-26. The Cobras took the first lead of the second half at the 14:44 mark and continued to ramp up the intensity from there. The Cobras shot 54.8% from the field in the second half, and a made bucket from
JaMonte Williams gave the team a 10-point lead with under nine minutes on the clock. The Cobra defense did not allow the Jaguars to get any closer than that for the remainder of the game, and they secured the 81-59 win at home.Â
Williams led the Cobra offense with 20 points and
Chandler Jackson recorded a double-double, going 8-8 from the free throw line.Â
