Box Score CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The No. 7 Parkland men's basketball team won a conference game against John Wood Community College (10-15) on Saturday, February 8. The Cobras (22-2) shot over 50% from the field and went 15-19 (78.9%) from the free throw line in the win. 

Parkland fell behind 9-2 in the first five minutes of the game, but quickly recovered to get the 17-14 lead with 11:21 on the clock in the opening half. The game was neck and neck for most of the half, but the Cobras started to pull away in the final four minutes, going on an impressive 16-0 run to take the 46-28 lead going into the break. Parkland opened up the second half with a bucket from Fabio Da Rocha to get the 20-point lead, but the Trailblazers continued to battle and made it a 13-point game at the 10-minute mark. Parkland didn't allow the Trailblazers trim the deficit any further, and 11 points from Drew Lewis Jr. in the second half helped the Cobras cruise to an 84-67 win on Saturday. 

Lewis Jr. led the team with 21 points and seven rebounds. JaMonte Williams contributed 16 points and Jaiden Martin had 15 points off the bench.
