Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The No. 11 ranked Parkland baseball team swept Lincoln Land Community College (9-8) in a road conference doubleheader on Saturday, March 15. The Cobras (10-5) outhit the Loggers 33-20 to win their first conference games of the season.

Michael Carrano Jr. got the first RBI of the game, doubling in his first at bat to score two runs in the top of the 1st, but the Loggers answered quickly by scoring seven runs in the first three innings. Going into the top of the 6th inning, the Loggers had the 7-5 lead. A Jax Hisle line drive in the 7th tied the ballgame, and a Mark Mennecke groundout put the Cobras ahead 8-7. Parkland did not lose the lead after that, adding on three more runs in the 7th and two more runs in the 8th thanks to a two-run homerun from John Shuey. The Cobras had 13 hits in the win, led by Jax Hisle with three. Alex Schimmel knocked in three runs for Parkland. 
 
Gavin Parkerson (4.0 IP, 9 H, 7 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 6 K) started on the mound for the Cobras, and Lane Lorton (4-0) (4.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K) earned the win. Collin Cirks (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K) closed for the visitors.

The Cobras started to pile on runs in the top of the 2nd inning, taking the 3-2 lead on a three-run homerun from Logan Cardwell and then the 6-2 lead on another three-run homerun, this time from Jax Hisle. Parkland poured in another four runs in the top of the 3rd, and another two in the 4th to go up 12-2 after four innings. The Cobra offense exploded in the 7th inning, scoring 13 runs to take the 25-4 lead and close out the Loggers in the second game of the day. 
 
Cody DelFavero (5.0 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) got his first win of the season, and Sam Foulke (2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K) came on in relief for the Cobras. 
 
Up next, the Cobras play a home doubleheader against Lincoln Land Community College in Rantoul, Illinois. The first game is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Sunday, March 16.
