Box Score CLERMONT, Fla. – The Parkland College softball team wrapped up day two of The Spring Games with a win over South Suburban College (1-5) on Sunday, March 16. The Cobras (11-9) were scheduled to play Triton College (12-1) in the second game of the day, but it was canceled due to the weather conditions in Florida.Â

Game 1: Parkland College 5, South Suburban College 1
South Suburban struck first in the top of the second, scoring on a wild pitch to take a 1-0 lead. However, the Cobras responded quickly in the bottom half of the inning with a sacrifice fly from
Mya Brown, followed by a clutch single from
Ellie Lowe that drove in two runs, putting them ahead 3-1. The Cobras extended their lead in the third when
Nicole Sinks launched a solo home run to center field. They capped off their scoring in the sixth inning with an RBI double by
Ellie Lowe, sealing the 5-1 win. Lowe led the offense with three hits and three RBI.Â
Mya Brown (3.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K) started for the Cobras and got the win, and
Lucy Fearday (4.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K) pitched the last four innings.Â

Game 2: Parkland College vs. Triton College – CANCELED
Due to inclement weather, the game versus Triton College was canceled.Â

Up next, the Cobras have a day off in Florida, and then they are back in action on Tuesday, March 18. Parkland will face SUNY Niagara (1-4) at 4:15 pm and Waubonsee Community College (6-4) at 6:30 pm.Â
