Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fl. –  The Parkland College softball team won the first two games of The Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, on Saturday, March 15.
Tori Thomas hit a home run in each of the wins over Hawkeye Community College (7-13) and Macalester College JV and knocked in six runs for the Cobras (10-9).Â

Game 1: Parkland College 4, Hawkeye Community College 3

Parkland was the first to get on the board after
Tori Thomas hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 1st. The RedTails pulled ahead 3-1 in the top of the 2nd, but the Cobras closed the deficit in the 3rd inning thanks to a solo home run from Thomas. The Cobras put another two runs on the board in the 4th, which was enough to close out the RedTails 4-3.
Lucy Fearday and
Jordyn Turner had two hits each, and
Tori Thomas drove in two runs.Â

Claire Black (1.2 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2Â ER, 3 BB, 3 K) started on the mound, and
Lucy Fearday (5.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 5 K) earned her second win of the season.Â

Game 2: Parkland College 14, Macalester College JV 4
Â
The Cobras scored early and often in game two, and they had the 11-1 lead after three innings. Parkland would score another three runs in the 5th inning after back-to-back-to-back base hits from
Reece Sarver,
Kallie Evans, and
Lucy Fearday made the score 14-3. Macalester got one more run in the bottom half of the inning, but Parkland's lead proved to be too much, and the Cobras secured the 14-4 win in five innings.Â

Mya Brown (4.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) earned the win for the Cobras.
Tori Thomas threw to two batters in the game, and
Lucy Fearday threw to five batters.Â
Up next, the Cobras remain in Clermont, Florida, and play South Suburban College (1-5) and Triton College (12-1) on Sunday, March 16. The first game against South Suburban is scheduled for 4:00 pm and the second game against Triton is scheduled for 6:15 pm.
