Box Score CENTRALIA, Ill. – The No. 23 ranked Parkland College women's basketball team won the last game of the regular season at Kaskaskia College (7-22) on Saturday, March 1. The Cobras finish the regular season with a record of 19-11 and go into the Region 24 Division II Tournament as the No. 4 seed.Â

The Cobra defense shut down Kaskaskia in the first quarter, only allowing the home team to score six points in the first 10 minutes of play. Parkland took the 20-point lead with 2:20 on the clock in the second quarter, after
Savannah Shumate stole the ball and tossed it to
Danielle Ruffin for a layup. The Cobras extended the lead at the buzzer, thanks to a
Stacie Vonderheide offensive rebound and putback to take the 42-18 lead at half. Parkland went on a 6-0 run at the beginning of the third quarter to take the 30-point lead, and went into the fourth quarter ahead 59-26. The final quarter of the game was Kaskaskia's biggest offensive quarter, but the lead was too much to come back from, and the Cobras won 71-46 on the road.
Maliah Sparks (20 points, 12 rebounds) and
Stacie Vonderheide (14 points, 10 rebounds) each recorded a double-double for the Cobras.Â
