Box Score 2 CARTERVILLE, Ill. – No. 24 Parkland softball dropped two games at NJCAA Division I John A. Logan College (9-3) on Sunday, March 2.

Lucy Fearday each hit a home run in the doubleheader, but the Cobras were unable to secure a win against the Vols.Â

Game 1: (DI) John A. Logan College 7, No. 24 Parkland College 1

The Vols led early, taking the 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st, and the Cobras trailed 6-0 going into the top of the 3rd. The Cobras (5-6) struggled to get on base for a majority of the game, but a
Lucy Fearday solo home run in the top of the 6th inning got the visitors on the board. The Cobras only collected two hits in seven innings, and they fell 7-1 to the Vols in the first game of the day.Â

Mya Brown (2.0 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 0 BB, 1 K) took the loss for the Cobras, and
Lucy Fearday (3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K) and
Kailyn Wilson (1.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 K) came on in relief.Â

The Vols took an early 2-0 lead again in the second game of the doubleheader, but an
Abbey Horeis home run in the top of the 4th inning made it a 2-1 game. The Vols followed up quickly, scoring another two runs in the bottom of the inning to extend the lead.
Lindsey Muskopf doubled to left field in the top of the 6th inning to score another run for the Cobras, but the Vols held on to the lead to win 6-2.
Jordyn Turner led the Cobras with two hits.Â

Claire Black (4.0 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K) started for Parkland and took the loss.
Lucy Fearday (2.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K) relieved the starting pitcher, only allowing one hit in two innings.Â

Up next, the Cobras play in the Grand Slam Classic in Branson, Missouri, on Friday, March 7. Parkland will face Division I Northern Oklahoma College Enid (4-12) at 11:00 AM and Neosho County Community College (4-4) at 3:00 PM.Â
