Mya Brown (7-3) and
Claire Black (5-4) each earned a win.Â

Game 1: Parkland College 14, Lewis & Clark Community College 6
The game started off with Lewis & Clark striking first, driving in early runs to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. However, Parkland responded swiftly in the bottom of the inning, as
Lucy Fearday's clutch single tied the game at 2-2, followed by a groundout from
Ellie Lowe that scored
Nicole Sinks to put the Cobras up 3-2. In the 3rd inning,
Kailee Otto delivered a massive three-run home run, propelling Parkland to an 8-3 advantage.
Claire Black added a two-run double, stretching the lead to 10-3 before Lewis & Clark attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth inning. The Trailblazers chipped away at the deficit in the top of the 4th, bringing the score to 10-6 before the Cobras scored another four runs to secure the 14-6 victory in five innings.
Mya Brown (4.0 IP, 10 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K) got the win and
Lucy Fearday (0 H, 0 R, 1 K) pitched one inning in relief.Â

The Cobras came alive offensively in the 2nd inning, compiling 11 runs in the bottom half of the inning thanks to hits from
Abbey Horeis,
Jordyn Turner,
Claire Black,
Ellie Lowe,
Kallie Evans, and
Kailee Otto. A home run from
Mya Brown in the 3rd inning extended the lead to 15-0, and Cobra pitchers
Claire Black and
Lucy Fearday only allowed four hits in five innings in the decisive win over the Trailblazers.Â
Black earned the win, throwing three innings and striking out two. Fearday pitched two innings of no-run ball in relief.Â
Up next, the Cobras play a home doubleheader against Lincoln Land Community College (9-9) on Monday, March 24. The first game is scheduled for 2:00 pm at the Parkland College Softball field.Â
