Box Score 2 Quincy, Ill. – Parkland College softball got two wins at John Wood Community College (6-16) on Friday, March 28.
Nicole Sinks had two home runs and one grand slam in the wins, and
Claire Black added on six hits. After the two wins, the Cobras (21-9) improve to 6-0 in conference play.Â

Game 1: Parkland College 13, John Wood Community College 1
The Cobras set the tone early with two back-to-back home runs in the first inning by
Claire Black and
Nicole Sinks, giving them a quick 2-0 lead. The offense continued to apply pressure, extending their lead with key hits from
Jordyn Turner,
Ellie Lowe, and
Lucy Fearday. The Cobras' bats remained hot in the later innings, adding six runs in the 6th, highlighted by a triple from Turner and doubles from Sinks and
Reece Sarver, sealing the 13-1 win.Â
Mya Brown (5 BB, 8 K) pitched all six innings for the Cobras, earning her 9th win of the season.Â

Game 2: Parkland College 16, John Wood Community College 2
The Cobras scored two runs in the 3rd inning off a clutch double by
Claire Black, and a huge grand slam by
Nicole Sinks in the 4th inning put Parkland up 10-0. The Cobras extended the lead in the 5th, adding multiple runs thanks to a triple from
Ellie Lowe and a home run from Sinks. Sinks had a big game with three hits and five RBI, and
Maddie Gourley and
Abbey Horeis each added four hits apiece.Â
Claire Black (4.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K) got the win and
Lucy Fearday (0 BB, 1 K) came on in relief, throwing one inning for the Cobras.Â
Up next, the Cobras play a home doubleheader against Heartland Community College (7-12-1) on Sunday, March 30. The first game is scheduled for 1:00 pm at the Parkland College Softball Field.Â
